About the book

Basic Cornerstones is my first published work! It is a book baked in prayer that attempts to share healthy doses of God's word (Biblical cornerstones) with wives to help them build and maintain strong and Godly marriages. I share a few personal experiences but not enough to distract or shift the focus of the book: which is to implement prayer and God's word in primary and practical ways.

The position and the role of a wife in society, the marketplace, and especially in the home is a calling, and should be honored as such. It is my hope that this work proves didactic and helpful to readers; focusing them more on God and His word in refreshing ways so that marriages will be encouraged, enriched, and strengthened.

Author's Notes

With permission from both the Lord and my husband, I voluntarily severed my employment with the local school system after eight years of service. As you can imagine, this left me with plenty of time to read, pray, watch television, clean the house. . . But after a visit to my home church and unsolicited prophetic confirmation from the ministers there, God catapulted me into my first season of writing.

From the moment that I set my heart and mind to pray and write this book, the Spirit of God hovered over and poured out upon me. Chapter titles waved as banners above my head. Scriptures flowed through my heart like tidal bores. At times, God released faster than I could keep up! But isn't that just like Him!? :)

Yet He didn't allow me to become overwhelmed, pressured, daunted, or deterred. He instead kept me grounded and focused, and shared His great spirit of alacrity to help me complete the work. Even through the unexpected, unanticipated, and painful trial of appendicitis, the Lord was faithful. I was (and am) just very grateful to have been chosen for such a work.
