About the book

Into the Flames chronicles the career of Martin Plews, a former Retained Fire Fighter within his Community, for a little over five years. Some may ask how he can write a book on a five year career. Into the Flames answers that question by telling of his many experiences.

The books tells of heroism, humour and the camaraderie between the men and women who risk their lives each day. Martin shares a range of experiences with the reader, some that will keep you on the edge of your seat, others that will make you feel the emotions of the events.

He was lucky to have worked at one of the busiest Retained Fire Stations in his County, therefore attending many 'shouts' and being able to tell the tales.
