Author's Notes
All the Way to Heaven offers readers a unique flavor with its Italian setting and references to composer Giacomo Puccini; in particular, his opera La rondine. While visiting the quaint, medieval city of Lucca, Italy, birthplace and stomping grounds of the brilliant Puccini, I knew I'd find a way to use it as the setting for an international romance novel one day.
When news reports began airing, labeling 2014 "The Black Year" for Italian olive growers, it felt like the opportune time to bring Lucca, also renowned for its unique olive oils, out of the idea box and onto the pages of All the Way to Heaven. I do hope you enjoy Ani's journey through the Tuscan countryside as she gains a better understanding of who she is and what she wants out of life in this coming of age novel.
All the Way to Heaven is the first book in THE FALLOUT SERIES. Book 2, A Light in the Dark, follows the story of Ani's best friend back home in Midtown, California, and Book 3, A Long Way Home, features Tish's brother, an endearing character you'll meet in Book 2.
I hope you enjoy getting to know these friends and families who live on Maple Avenue in Midtown, Southern California. Although Midtown is a fabricated place, it is loosely based off the city of Redlands, California. So far, all my novels either take place in Midtown or are about characters who came from Midtown. If you pay attention, you'll find familiar settings and people crossing paths from one novel to another, and from one series to another, as well.
