Olga Núñez Miret is from Barcelona but has lived in the UK for over 20 years.
She is a doctor and her day job is as a Forensic Psychiatrist (not exactly like the profilers in the movies, or anything to do with CSI either), but she has also completed a degree in American Literature at the University of Sussex (including a year abroad at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts) and a a PhD on the Films of David Mamet. She was also teaching assistant whilst completing the PhD, mostly on Film courses.
Always a learner, she has recently finished a Distance Learning MSc on Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Leicester.
Olga has loved reading and writing since she was a child. Her father always says that even before she could read she'd always ask what any signs or writing meant. She has written a variety of things over the years: short stories (some now disappeared), novels, novellas and plays, in English, Spanish and Catalan. Some have been edited into the trash bin, but a few are still available and sitting quietly waiting for their moment in the sun. (Or an e-reader, most likely). Due to the many distractions (studies and jobs) she has never fully dedicated herself to the business of writing, but after a minor health scare she decided that there is no time like now. Carpe diem!
Her main love is fiction; she has written in a variety of genres (crime, family saga, para-normal, science-fiction...) and she is currently working on a series for young adults.
Apart from reading and writing, she loves the cinema, the theater (modern, classic, musicals...), fitness classes (and more recently also yoga), walking, crochet, and owls.
Her main aim is not to be boring and to entertain.
The first of her books to be published as e-book (October 2012) is 'The Man Who Wasn't There' also available in Spanish version: 'El hombre que nunca existió'.
In December 2012 she published 3 novellas in the series 'Escaping Psychiatry'. 'Cannon Fodder' (Escaping Psychiatry Part 1), 'Teamwork' (Escaping Psychiatry Part 2), and 'Memory' (Escaping Psychiatry Part 3). The author has used her experience and insights in these three works of fiction that follow Mary, psychiatrist and writer, and her adventures.
In February 2013 she published a Young Adult novella in English (Twin Evils?) and Spanish(Gemela Maldad). This story talks about sibling rivalry taken to extremes, friendship, romance and has a touch of the paranormal. She is currently working in a series of novels in the Young Adult genre.

Olga Núñez Miret es de Barcelona pero lleva viviendo en Inglaterra más de 20 años. Es médico (estudió en la Universidad de Barcelona, Hospital Clínic) y ahora trabaja de psiquiatra forense (no es como en la películas, nada que ver con laboratorios y CSI y eso) en un hospital público en Sheffield, aunque también se licenció en Literatura Americana en la Universidad de Sussex (Brighton, incluyendo un año en los Estados Unidos, Mount Holyoke College) y obtuvo un Doctorado sobre las películas de David Mamet. También dio clases durante su doctorado (la mayoría sobre cine Europeo y Americano).
Siempre estudiando, hace poco completó un Masters (a Distancia) en Criminología en la Universidad de Leicester.
A Olga le ha gustado leer y escribir desde muy niña. Su padre siempre dice que incluso antes de saber leer siempre le andaba dando la lata a todo el mundo para que le leyeran lo que decían los carteles y cualquier cosa con algo escrito. Ha escrito variedad de cosas y géneros: historias cortas(algunas ya desaparecidas), novelas, novelas cortas, e incluso obras de teatro, en Español, Catalán e Inglés. Algunas han acabado en la papelera, pero otras todavía siguen esperando en el ordenador y puede que un día de estos vean la luz (o un lector electrónico, probablemente). Debido a las muchas distracciones (estudios y trabajo), nunca se ha dedicado de pleno al negocio de la escritura, pero después de un susto de salud (al final por suerte nada serio) decidió que era mejor no esperar más. ¡Carpe Diem!
Ella siempre ha preferido la ficción y ha escrito en géneros diversos (crimen, saga familiar, paranormal, ciencia ficción, comedia...) y ahora mismo está preparando una serie de novelas juveniles en género fantasía/paranormal. Aparte de leer y escribir, le encanta el cine, el teatro (moderno, clásico, musicales...), ir al gimnasio donde prefiere las clases, pasear, el ganchillo, y los búhos. En cuanto a su escritura a lo que aspira es a no aburrir y a entretener.
El primer libro que ha publicado (Octubre 2012) es 'El hombre que nunca existió' (también disponible en versión en inglés 'The Man Who Never Was'). Es una saga familiar, con mucho humor, inspirada por la novelas del género del Realismo Mágico, y donde hay un poco de todo, política, cine, deportes, amor, adulterio...
En Diciembre 2012 publicó una serie de novelas cortas de momento sólo disponibles en inglés ('Escaping Psychiatry'es la serie y las novelas: 'Cannon Fodder', 'Teawork' y 'Memory'). La protagonista es una psiquiatra, Mary, que también es escritora y se ve envuelta en una serie de aventuras que ponen a prueba su profesionalidad y su estilo de vida.
En Febrero 2013 publicó una novela corta juvenil 'Gemela Maldad' (también disponible en inglés, 'Twin Evils?'). La historia trata de dos gemelos que no se pueden ver, de amistad, romance y también tiene un toque de lo paranormal. Y en el futuro espera seguir publicando más obras en el género juvenil, aunque nunca se sabe...
