The Author Gary York served in the United States Army Military Police Corps and received the Army Commendation medal and Soldier of the Quarter award while serving. Gary later worked for the Florida Department of Corrections for many years as a Correctional Officer, Probation Officer and Senior Prison Inspector. He was the statewide Prison Inspector of the Year in 1998 and recieved honors from the Civil-Criminal Divison in Washington DC for a wrongful death investigation he conducted in a Florida prison. He was also selected to work with the U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division Program on Death In Custody training in Tashent, Uzbekistan.
