Christopher Mark Stokes was born on 8th January the same day as his favorite singer Elvis Presley, he lives in walsall in the west midlands, and used attend willenhall e-act academy where he attained 7 GCSE's at A-C grade in various subjects including English, at his time at school he was quite shy and reserved,but liked it that way as his conserved manner allowed him to concentrate on writing and working at school, he always enjoyed writing and his teachers often praised what he did even when he was a little older and began writing his C.V, they began acknowledging the way in which he wrote it and the words he chose to use to express his thoughts, he found then that he was good with words and could write more efficiently than those around him but at that time he had never really thought of trying to write as a career choice.
He went on to further his education at 6th form level where he eventually achieved level 3 diplomas in I.C.T and Physical Education. He eventually left 6th form after two years and didn't really know where he was heading next in life and university was never an option for him and he never thought about it as something that suited him as a person. However as he thought of what he would want to do with his life and what he would enjoy doing he realized that maybe he could try writing and try and turn his passion and his hobby for writing and creating stories into a career, as he always had a passion for it since he was very young when he started out writing three page short stories at the tender age of eight.
During his first year at 6th form he had an idea for a book, he didn't know where it came from, the idea just sprang into his head and filled his imagination with characters and a story line, he noted down the ideas before he lost them forever and began work on writing his first ever full length book, some time passed and he has now just finished that first book, he entitled it 'The Distant Glimmer' and headed for the amazon eBook self publishing service to allow others to read what he had created, to give him a better chance of becoming an author and having eventually got his dream job.
Chris loves all things which are in relation to mythology and magic and he also has a keen interest in science fiction, he is also an avid fan of Doctor Who and has a love for books such as the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, the likes of which inspired him to try a book like this of his own, he incorporated magic, mythical creatures and had the setting of his book set in space on a new undiscovered planet, he personally is proud of what he has achieved and he now holds onto the hope that others will read his book and possible future books he writes as he has now begun writing for younger age groups from 2 year old's to 12 year old's so that he can reach an even wider audience and give more people enjoyment when they read, his main goal is to try and get people to enjoy reading his books as much as he enjoyed writing them.
